Mama’s Movers provides relocation services to Residential and Commercial clients, of any type, locally, in the Washington Metropolitan area, and across the continental United States.  We move homes, apartments, and offices (large and small staff counts).  We assist with storage.


Residential Clients

DISPOSAL (Purging – pre- and post-move)

We will pick up and dispose of your unwanted furniture and other items, landscaping and home renovation debris, etc.  We can properly dispose of computers, tires and other items which require special treatment by law, arrange for and supervise, at our storage facility or other location, shredding of  documents and hard drives.

PACKING / UNPACKING

Proper, safe, well-padded packing will protect your belongings, reduce or eliminate damages, enable better, more efficient truck loading and unloading, as well as simplify your unpacking time at the destination.

Our professionally trained staff is available to pack and / or unpack your belongings.

We tend to over-pack delicate objects for better protection in transit.

LOADING / UNLOADING

Handling your goods with TenderLovingCare, we load your goods in our trucks, protecting them with thick furniture blankets and securing them in place for the trip.  We disassemble and reassemble furniture as needed, and place them as directed in your new home or office.

PACKING SUPPLIES

Moving boxes of various shapes and sizes.  Our suppliers carry all sizes.

  • Small, medium and large moving boxes, with or without handles
  • Wardrobe boxes and bars make short work of packing closets
  • Picture and lamp boxes
  • Bankers boxes for files, etc.
  • bubble wrap – different sizes bubbles and widths
  • newsprint (newspapers without ink)
  • various size and strength tapes and tape guns.  Stronger tape is worth the extra cost.

SPECIALTY ITEMS

We move Pianos, Safes, and other large and hard-to-handle items.

MOVE MANAGEMENT

Our experienced staff can meet with appropriate contact(s) and work out the move details in advance. Mama’s Movers can manage your office move, from start to finish, relieving your staff from all the related details so their time and resources may be more productively devoted to your company’s business.

MOVE SEMINAR

Our Move Seminar will instruct staff what to expect, create a positive team effort atmosphere, eliminate staff’s confusion, reduce move day stress and smooth the transition process overall.

CRATE AND DOLLY RENTALS

For Commercial office moves, we recommend the rental of plastic crates and dollies which we find are much safer, faster and easier to use than cardboard boxes.  Their sturdy construction includes attached lids and available guide bars for hanging folders.

The simple convenience and space-saving stacking save clients time and reduce likelihood of staff injury. The dollies make moving the crates much safer and easier, reducing need to lift boxes out of the way, which may actually increase staff productivity.  These crates are very safe, efficient, and easy to use.
